Analysis reveals effectiveness of sustainable development strategies in a Polish city, indicating key areas for improvement.
Abstract The idea of sustainable development has been present in the field of management for many years, but the challenges currently facing cities make it particularly relevant. There is still relatively little research on whether existing sustainable development strategies are producing the expected results and whether they fulfil their role as authentic city management tools. For this reason, the aim of this article is to assess the level of implementation of sustainable development strategies in a selected Polish city. The originality of the article is ensured by the use of the self-assessment tool for sustainable urban development strategies (SAT4SUD). The adopted perspective allowed for the identification of strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of sustainable development strategies and for the indication of theoretical and practical implications.
