As the global population ages, the need for effective long-term care solutions continues to increase. Intelligent healthcare has become an important application medium to improve the quality of care for the elderly, especially in long-term care practice, bringing about major changes and progress. This study takes Taiwan as an example to explore the current development status of the smart technology elderly care industry, analyze the differences in the application of Intelligent technology nursing care in Taiwan’s day-care centers, healthcare institutions, and community units, and construct feasible technologies for the development of a symbiotic community smart care ecosystem. Content analysis and interview methods were used for data collection and analysis. The interviewees included six institutional managers from day-care centers, nursing institutions and community units to share their views and suggestions on the current application of smart technology. Taking three actual elderly care institutions in Taiwan as examples, we discuss the integration of smart technology in long-term care, its advantages, challenges, and its impact on the future elderly care system. An in-depth discussion on how smart technology is reshaping elderly care and its possible future applications.
