Observational analysis demonstrates improved quality of life in military police, suggesting a need for sports in training.
Every day the number of people suffering from biopsychosocial illnesses is growing, many of which are caused by work activities. That is the case of military police officers from Alagoas, who, due to their high-risk profession, are susceptible to these illnesses –biological (heart disease, musculoskeletal pain, hypertension, and diabetes), psychological (stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation) and social (social isolation and inappropriate behavior). Therefore, considering studies that correlate sports practice with biopsychosocial health, the research problem arose from the following question: How could institutionalizing sports modalities during physical training provide quality of life for military police officers in Alagoas? The general objective was to demonstrate the importance of institutionalizing sports modalities in physical training to promote biopsychosocial health for military police officers in Alagoas. The deductive method was used in a qualitative approach, as well as bibliographic and documentary research. In the end, it is concluded that the Military Police of Alagoas can, through the approximation of the Psychology Sector and the Department of Physical Education and Sports, taking advantage of military personnel with training unphysical training, develop programs to encourage the practice of sports during military physical training hours, to promote quality of life for military police officers and, consequently, greater efficiency in the service provided to the society of Alagoas.
