The design demonstrates a tunable bandpass filter with graphene resonators, showing up to 530 GHz passband changes for THz communication.
We present a tunable bandpass filter (BPF) made of graphene resonators that works in the terahertz (THz) frequency range (0.1-10 THz). The filter features a long resonator and two small resonators, facilitating improved tuning capabilities, especially in high-frequency regions. CST models the structure using three-dimensional finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) and coupled mode theory. You can tune it by changing the chemical potential (µc) by 0.1 eV to 1.0 eV. This can cause passband changes of up to 530 GHz. The design has self-regulating resonators, specifically L2 and L3, which allow the frequency to be changed precisely. This suggests that it will work well for future THz communication and sensing systems.
