New method uses magnetohydrodynamic actuation for precise attitude control, indicating enhanced efficiency.
This paper proposes a new method for three-axis attitude adjustment of microsatellites, using a spherical magnetohydrodynamic attitude adjustment mechanism as the active actuator for satellite attitude control. The working principle of this mechanism is analyzed, and its dynamic mathematical model is established. By utilizing the principle of vector control, the output torque of the mechanism is estimated, and a torque closed-loop vector control model is developed. Further research on the attitude control model is conducted, followed by joint simulations. The results indicate that the feedback torque value of this mechanism can closely follow the given torque, achieving closed-loop torque control. Additionally, this mechanism can output the desired torque at specified positions, meeting the requirements of attitude adjustment tasks. The method proposed in this paper not only retains the reliability of traditional control methods but also effectively overcomes issues related to space occupation and momentum utilization efficiency in traditional flow control methods, providing a new approach for active attitude control.
