Case report highlights liposarcoma arising from mature teratoma in a young male, indicating rare complications of testicular tumor surgeries.
Introduction Testicular germ cell tumors (GCTs) are rare cancers. Mature teratomas may rarely undergo somatic malignant transformation (SMT) and may exhibit histological features resembling those of sarcomas. Case A 22‐year‐old male presented to our hospital with a complaint of a left scrotal mass. Under a diagnosis of metastatic mixed germ cell tumor, high inguinal orchiectomy was performed, followed by chemotherapy, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, and metastasectomy. A liver specimen showed residual mature teratoma. Three years later, a left renal mass was found, and resection was performed. Histopathological examination confirmed it to be liposarcoma derived from mature teratoma.
