19-Nor-cardenolides From Calotropis gigantea.

Three previously unreported 19-nor-10β-hydroxy cardenolides (1-3) and an analogue (4) were isolated from the whole plant of Calotropis gigantea. Their structures were elucidated based on a combination of spectroscopic data interpretation and electronic circular dichroism analysis. The anti-fungal activity of all isolated cardenolides was screened for inhibitory effect against Fusarium solani using the filter paper disc method. However, none exhibited significant inhibitory effects.
