Study demonstrates optimal preparation conditions for bornite thermoelectric material, indicating its potential.
As a natural mineral, Bornite has gradually attracted widespread attention and research interest from scholars in recent years due to its environmental friendliness, low cost, and potential thermoelectric properties. In this study, the Bornite-type compound Cu 5 FeS 4 was successfully prepared using induction melting. The samples were found to be inhomogeneous with numerous pores. Through testing and analysis, the optimal preparation conditions were determined to be a heating power of 500 W and a sintering time of 420 s. Under these conditions, the best Seebeck coefficient absolute value of 337.46 μV·K −1 and the minimum electrical resistivity value of 2.3 Ω·cm were obtained. The power factor of Cu 5 FeS 4 bornite thermoelectric material is relatively low, with a maximum value of 2.84 μW·m −1 K −2 .
