Novel AIE molecule enhances fluorescence intensity in lysosomes, indicating new bioactive applications.
This study developed a novel aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) molecule STW1‐A by introducing phenylacetonitrile group into the staurosporine structure. STW1‐A showed a maximum 10.2‐fold fluorescence intensity enhancement under aggregation. Furthermore, STW1‐A demonstrated specific lysosome‐targeting capability, achieving a co‐localization coefficient of 0.78 with the commercial dye Lyso‐Tracker Red. Under 365 nm light irradiation, STW1‐A underwent Z ‐to‐ E isomerization under UV irradiation, leading to altered bioactivity. This work shows a staurosporine ‐based molecular which integrates AIE property, lysosome‐targeting ability, bioactivity, and photo‐convertible functionality, suggesting potential for expanding the multi‐functional applications of staurosporine derivatives.
