Analysis demonstrates the importance of permeability in fracture reservoirs, indicating new equations enhance data reliability.
YM formation is fracture reservoir with low porosity. Core data, array sonic and imaging data have been used to evaluate the fracture property. The estimation of fracture parameters especially permeability is a key to evaluate the fracture reservoir because of the heterogeneous and anisotropies. Owing to insufficient image log data, we use conventional Dual Laterolog resistivity (shallow and deep resistivity) to compute the fracture parameters. Because of the limited application conditions, the equation cannot be used in the study area. In order to calculate the fracture aperture and fracture porosity, new equations are created. The computed results have good consistent with the imaging data. The reliability of dual laterolog (DLL)-derived parameters is confirmed through integration with borehole image interpretation and pressure transient analysis (PTA).
