This research analyzes dissolution and thermodynamic properties in ethyl acetate, suggesting key thermodynamic relationships.
Derivatives of 3-(5-aryl-2-furyl)propanoic acids were synthesised for which the process of dissolution in ethyl acetate was studied for the first time. The temperature dependence of solubility was determined experimentally. Based on the results obtained, the enthalpies (ΔsolH) and entropies (ΔsolS) of dissolution were determined. The enthalpy and entropy of fusion of these compounds were calculated using the method of differential thermal analysis. The thermodynamic parameters of melting were recalculated to the standard temperature of 298 K. Using these data, the enthalpy and entropy of mixing in ethyl acetate at 298 K were calculated.
