Genome sequencing reveals two haplotypes and chromosomal pseudomolecules in Mustelus asterias, highlighting genetic structure.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of <ns3:italic>Mustelus asterias</ns3:italic> (Starry smooth-hound; Chordata; Chondrichthyes; Carcharhiniformes; Triakidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 3 679.77 megabases and 3 476.68 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (84.19%) is scaffolded into 34 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.82 kilobases.</ns3:p>
