This study reveals the impact of ce-zinc-co doping on magnetic properties in m-type ferrite, highlighting potential applications in new energy vehicles.
M-type ferrite is widely used in the field of new energy vehicles due to its characteristics such as low cost and high stability. In this paper, M-type ferrite samples containing Ce-Zn-Co were prepared by high-temperature sintering method. The structural characteristics of the samples were tested by X-ray diffractometer. The results indicated that Sr1-xCexFe11.4Co0.2Zn0.4O19 were all M-type ferrite crystals of the hexagonal crystal system. When Ce>0.1mol, the impurity phase of iron oxide shows a significant increase. The saturation magnetization of the sample decreased from 63.93 emu/g to 33.44 emu/g, a reduction of 47.69%, and the coercive force decreased from 3369.59 Oe to 1549.69 Oe, a reduction of 54.01%. The change in magnetic properties is attributed to the substitution of Sr²⁺ by Ce³⁺ and the preferential occupation of the 4f1 site by Zn²⁺, which reduces the anti-parallel spin contribution of Fe³⁺. With the increase in the doping amount of Ce³⁺ and the substitution of Fe³⁺ by Zn²⁺, the increase in iron oxide impurities reduces the magnetic properties of the sample. The comprehensive performance of the samples indicates that it has a good application prospect in components such as on-board chargers in the new energy power system.
