Corruption in government authorities remains one of the most pressing and critical issues in most countries worldwide. It affects all levels of governance and negatively impacts various spheres of society. Combating corruption in government institutions in Russia is an extremely important task, as corruption undermines citizens’ trust in state institutions, weakens the economy, and hinders social development. Corrupt practices lead to the inefficient use of budget funds, which negatively affects the financing of vital social programs such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. This, in turn, exacerbates inequality and limits opportunities for citizens’ development. The article highlights the causes of corruption, its consequences, and the existing strategies for combating it. Special attention is paid to the role of transparency, accountability, and ethics in preventing and detecting corruption.
