Proposed cloud-edge collaboration improves task processing in remote sensing images, suggesting enhanced real-time performance.
With the surge in satellite remote sensing data volume, satellite data processing systems are under tremendous pressure. The traditional processing models struggle to meet the real-time requirements of intelligent processing applications such as target detection in remote sensing images, necessitating the exploration of a new technological path. This paper proposes a resource-aware cloud-edge collaborative method for remote sensing image target detection application. The method improves the utilization of network and computing resources by reasonably distributing different target detection task processing steps to the central cloud and edge cloud, thereby enhancing the real-time performance of the application. Simulation experimental results show that under different task arrival rates, and cloud-edge bandwidth conditions, the proposed method achieves the lowest task processing time compared to other traditional processing methods.
