This review highlights advances in crystal growth and laser frequency conversion of BaGa4Se7, indicating future research directions.
BaGa₄Se₇(BGSe) is a promising new-type infrared nonlinear optical crystal with excellent overall performance. Compared with commercialized infrared nonlinear optical crystals like AgGaS₂, AgGaSe₂ and ZnGeP₂, it offers advantages such as a high laser damage threshold and a broad transmission range. Researchers both domestically and internationally have extensively explored its crystal growth and laser generation. This paper reviews the progress in BGSe crystal growth techniques and laser frequency conversion research since its synthesis in 2010 and outlines future research directions.
