This comparative study evaluates isomeric Co(II) complexes, revealing how noncovalent interactions influence their supramolecular architecture.
The comparative study of isomeric Co(II) complexes based on 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(isonicotinoylhydrazone) (H2L1) [Co(H2L1)(H2O)2]Cl2·3H2O (1) and 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(nicotinoylhydrazone) (H2L2) [Co(H2L2)(H2O)2]Cl2·2.25H2O (2) has been realized. The chemical and structural composition of complexes 1 and 2 were established by the single crystal X-ray diffraction. The influence of hydrogen bonds and π···π interactions on supramolecular architecture were evaluated by Hirshfeld surface analysis followed by lattice energies calculations.
