X-ray diffraction characterizes a new Cd(II) coordination polymer with adipic acid, suggesting its potential in materials chemistry.
The reaction of Cd(ClO4)2·2H2O salt with adipic acid (H2adi) and 4,4’-diaminodiphenylmethane (dadpm) in the mixture of DMF and CH3CN solvents, resulted in new Cd(II)-based 1D coordination polymer with the composition {[Cd(adi)(dmf)₂(H₂O)](H2O)2}n. The crystal structure was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction, confirming a 1D polymer. IR spectroscopic analysis revealed the presence of functional groups, confirming the integration of the ligand into the compound. This study contributes to the development of complex materials with applications in materials chemistry and advanced technologies.
