Proposed active stray light suppression enhances imaging quality in remote sensing, indicating improvements for deep space missions.
To meet the requirements of high-sensitivity optical observations for deep space exploration, a remote sensing payload optical system with the ability of active stray light suppression in the system is proposed. Starting from the mechanism of stray light elimination, the traditional stray light elimination method mainly relying on a two-stage sunshade is improved. Through the design of an integrated optical architecture, the synchronous detection requirements of solar guiding and optical remote sensing imaging are satisfied, and the active stray light suppression mechanism of the optical payload during deep space exploration is realized. An active stray light elimination design scheme based on an irregularly shaped follow-up sunshade is proposed, and an engineering approach is provided. The research results show that, compared with the traditional method, the active stray light suppression method can significantly enhance the stray light suppression capability of the system while reducing the structural weight and size of the system, thus meeting the requirements of deep space exploration in complex environments.
