Case study demonstrates reduced papules and improved skin hydration in patients with perifollicular keratosis.
Perifollicular keratosis is a fairly common hyperkeratotic skin disease. Skin changes in the form of papules and small nodules are accompanied by roughness, dryness, and an uneven surface. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments based on lactic and mandelic acids, which, due to their properties, appear to be effective solutions in the therapy of perifollicular keratosis. After a series of treatments, a decrease in the number of papules on both arms, a significant reduction in redness, and improved skin hydration were observed. The study confirmed the effectiveness of both acids in treating perifollicular keratosis.
