Review discusses properties, synthesis methods, and applications of carbon nanotubes, suggesting they are crucial in various fields.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have generated tremendous research interest in last few decades. Its chemical, mechanical, optical and electronic properties are of special interest, due to which they have proved to be a promising material for various applications. CNTs can be used for energy storage, nanomechanical devices, composite materials, etc. Purified nanotubes are required in bulk quantity for commercial applications. Hence understanding the dynamical properties of CNTs is imperative. Different methods are used to synthesize carbon nanotubes of different types and chirality. In this review article, general introduction, synthesis techniques, dynamical modes and applications of CNTs are discussed.
