Meta-analysis reveals variations in ovarian reserve impacts from brca1 and brca2 mutations in carriers.
(Abstracted from Fertil Steril 2025;123(5):899–901) Mutations in the BRCA genes that encode breast cancer can significantly increase the risk of breast cancer along with other reproductive cancers such as ovarian, fallopian tube, and peritoneal cancer. Carrier status is postulated to also have an effect on ovarian reserve, but there may be differences between BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations as shown in a recent meta-analysis.
