Feasibility assessment of dynamic intra-arterial spin labeling in coronary arteries, indicating a novel imaging tool without contrast agents.
Motivation: Dynamic intra-arterial spin labeling (iASL) has the potential to dynamically display flow in coronary arteries with high temporal resolution without contrast agents. Goal(s): Investigate the feasibility of multi-bolus 2D and 3D dynamic iASL with different temporal resolutions and acquisition times. Approach: The labeling and acquisition scheme is implemented in a FLASH sequence, and iASL measurements are acquired in a vessel phantom. Results: 2D and 3D acquisitions are feasible with a potential optimization towards breath-hold acquisitions. Impact: Dynamic iASL can visualize blood flow dynamics similar to contrast-enhanced fluoroscopy, making it an essential tool for MR guided catheterizations.
