Observational analysis found correlations between diffusion parameters and respiratory factors in obstructive sleep apnea, suggesting neurofluid changes.
Motivation: Evaluating neurofluid dynamics, crucial for brain clearance, requires a comprehensive approach utilizing multiple assessment methods. We explore the role of time-dependent diffusion imaging in this context. Goal(s): This study examines obstructive sleep apnea, potentially impacting neurofluid dynamics, to assess correlations between time-dependent diffusion parameters and markers of sleep and respiration. Approach: In 42 patients, we analyzed correlations between polysomnography-derived indicators and ΔADC (ADCOGSE - ADCPGSE) in deep white matter. Results: ΔADC correlated well with respiratory parameters, while correlations with sleep markers were limited. Impact: ΔADC could serve as an indicator of brain microstructural changes linked to respiratory function, with implications for evaluating neurofluid dynamics.
