This analysis reveals DCE-MRI's value in distinguishing borderline ovarian tumors from malignant ones, highlighting key imaging features.
Motivation: Borderline ovarian tumors (BEOTs) are a unique pathological type of tumor that lies between benign and malignant ovarian tumors. However, there are few reports on its use in differentiating between borderline and invasive ovarian tumors. Goal(s): This study aims to explore the value of DCE-MRI imaging features in the differential diagnosis of BEOTs and Malignant epithelial ovarian tumors (MEOTs). Approach: Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) has high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing ovarian malignancies and staging malignant tumors preoperatively. Results: Tumor size, solid components, and septations are independent predictors of borderline and invasive ovarian tumors in women. Impact: DCE-MRI has certain value in the diagnosis and differentiation of borderline and invasive ovarian tumors, providing important imaging references for the development of clinical treatment plans and prognosis evaluation.
