This observational analysis shows improved quality of life in patients after liposuction with laser therapy, indicating enhanced satisfaction post-treatment.
Objective: to evaluate the impact of comprehensive rehabilitation protocols, including laser therapy, on the quality of life of patients after standard and radiofrequency liposuction of localized fat deposits in the upper arms. Material and Methods. The study included patients with localized fat deposits in the upper arms who underwent either standard or radiofrequency liposuction. In some patients, postoperative neodymium laser therapy was applied. Patients were randomized into four groups: 1 — standard liposuction + compression therapy; 2 — radiofrequency liposuction + compression therapy; 3 — standard liposuction + laser therapy; 4 — radiofrequency liposuction + laser therapy. The effectiveness was assessed using the standard GRS (Global Rating Scale for quality of life) and the BODY-Q questionnaire. Assessment points were set before liposuction, and at 6 and 12 months postoperatively. Results. All groups showed a statistically significant decrease in GRS and BODY-Q scores at 6 and 12 months after liposuction (p<0.05). The most prominent improvement was observed in groups with combined laser therapy, especially in combination with radiofrequency liposuction (GRS reduction by 89.5 % and BODY-Q by 90 % at 12 months). Radiofrequency liposuction demonstrated superior outcomes compared to standard liposuction, both as a standalone and in combination with laser therapy. Conclusion. Comprehensive application of laser therapy in the postoperative period leads to a significant improvement in quality of life and patient satisfaction after liposuction of localized fat deposits in the upper arms, especially when combined with radiofrequency liposuction.
