Case report on complete urethral disruption repair in an 8-year-old girl, highlighting pelvic trauma implications.
Pelvic trauma is a rare cause of urethral disruption in females. When it occurs, repair also becomes challenging due to the short length of the urethra in females. Collaboration with the orthopedic surgeons to widen the pubic symphysis will improve anastomosis, especially in female children. We present the case of an 8-year-old girl who presented with complete urethral disruption following a road traffic accident that occurred 2 years earlier, for which she was on suprapubic cystostomy before presentation.
