This research investigates the dielectric and thermal properties of poly(vinylidenefluoride) nanocomposites, suggesting optimal Mg-MOF percentages for enhanced performance.
We synthesized the magnesium metal–organic framework (Mg‐MOF) using a sonochemical method and investigated the dielectric and thermal properties of poly(vinylidenefluoride) (PVDF)@Mg‐MOF nanocomposite when Mg‐MOF loading percentages are varied. We prepared PVDF@Mg‐MOF nanocomposite thin films of 8 and 12 wt.%. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to evaluate structural morphology. As a result of the dielectric measurement, 12 wt.% was determined to be the optimal percentage of PVDF@Mg‐MOF nanocomposite. The dielectric properties of PVDF and PVDF@Mg‐MOF nanocomposites were recorded from 10 Hz to 10 7 Hz. We observed that PVDF@Mg‐MOF 12 wt.% thin films had a relatively high dielectric permittivity with low dielectric loss and no visible defects. Thermal behavior and stability of the nanocomposites were assessed using DSC and TGA.
