This analysis reveals dynamic characteristics of sandwich annular plates under moving excitation, suggesting new insights into their thermal responses.
This paper proposed a universal model for analyzing the free vibration and transient vibration responses of sandwich annular plates under moving excitation in a thermal environment. The sandwich annular plate can be composed of any distribution combination of two materials: fiber-reinforced composite and functionally graded porous graphene platelet-reinforced composites (FGP-GPLRC). The model adopts a combined approach of the spectral geometry method and the Rayleigh–Ritz method, based on three-dimensional elasticity theory, and uses the Newmark-[Formula: see text] method to solve the vibration response of the sandwich annular plate. Based on the thermo-elastic theory, the thermal effect of the annular plate is considered, and the general boundary conditions of the annular plate are simulated through artificial spring technology. The accuracy of the model was verified by comparison with existing literature and finite element method (FEM). The influences of GPL weight fraction, material distribution, structural size, porosity, and excitation moving speed on the dynamic characteristics of the sandwich annular plate were studied.
