This review highlights compressed sensing algorithms in MRI and CT, suggesting significant clinical advantages.
Last years the compressed sensing (CS)-based algorithms have been found wide application in medical imaging, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). This paper presents the basics of the CS theory, the philosophy of its application to MRI and CT, as well as the tomogram examples from the literature sources, which demonstrate visually the advantage of the CS-based algorithms over the traditional iterative reconstruction techniques. In review conclusion the significance of the fastest CS algorithm introduction into day-to-day practice of clinical diagnostics is underlined.
