Abstract

Abstract Green hydrogen, as a renewable energy source with vast potential and multiple uses, will play a crucial role in the energy transition. This study focuses on improving clean energy production, specifically green hydrogen, through the synthesis and characterization of nickel nanoparticles infused iron tungstate nanomaterials (Ni‐NPs@FeWO 4 ). A simple chemical reduction synthesis technique, followed by hydrothermal, is used to merge nickel nanoparticles with iron tungstate nano framework. The Ni‐NPs@FeWO 4 nanocomposite is analyzed for its crystalline structure, morphology, and elemental composition, and the results show a uniform dendrite architecture with significant porosity and sharp XRD peaks indicating a high crystallinity. This innovative catalytic combination demonstrates good activity in hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) with overpotentials of 174 and 432 mV at 10 and 50 mA cm −2 , respectively. It also exhibits superior oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity with 264 and 342 mV overpotentials at 10 and 50 mA cm −2 , respectively. The Ni‐NPs@FeWO 4 (+,‐) fuel cell achieves a cell potential of 1.69 V at 10 mA cm −2 , showcasing effective electrochemical performance and hydrogen production efficiency, making it a promising and eco‐friendly alternative for clean energy applications.
