This analysis examines the influence of the competency model on employability in pre-service teachers, suggesting improved employment skills may bolster job prospects.
Pre-service teachers are the future teaching workforce, and employability forms the basis for securing jobs and performing effectively. Given today's challenging labor market, cultivating pre-service teachers’ employability has become crucial. Responding to this context, the pressing task for universities is to assess pre-service teachers’ employability scientifically, enhance their competitive advantages, and ultimately achieve high-quality employment outcomes. From the perspective of the competency model, this study applies the model to an empirical investigation of pre-service teachers’ employability and analyzes, in a rigorous manner, the factors that influence it. The aim is to deepen research on pre-service teacher employability and to provide guidance for universities to strengthen core employment skills and improve employability among pre-service teachers.
