The distribution of grain crop seeds by area with broadcast strip sowing depending on the seeding rate was studied in the work. The seeds of spring wheat "Buryatskaya - 79" of local selection were selected for the study. The distribution of seeds was studied in the field by shoots after their full emergence by imposing a square frame measuring 500 Г— 500 mm with a grid of squares applied, the sides of which are equal to 50 mm, according to the known method. Plants were counted in each square of the frame. A row-less seeder based on a row seeder SZS-2.1 with row-less coulters in the form of an arrow-shaped cultivator paw with a grip of 280 mm and a seed spreader with a complex curvilinearconical shape was made for experimental testing. Seed scattering in these coulters occurs when seeds move along the curvilinear surface of the spreader due to their kinetic energy of falling. The results on plant distribution using a rowless seeder at different values of average plant density are obtained. The graphs of density and distribution of plant nutrition area, constructed on the basis of experimental data, are studied. It is established that the distribution of grain crop seeds by area, sown by a rowless seeder, is described with sufficient accuracy by the Poisson distribution law, and the distribution of the nutrition area between individual plants is determined by the exponential law. It is proposed to use existing methods for testing grain seeders to characterize the distribution of the nutrition area between individual plants.
