Extraction reveals new anti-inflammatory compounds from Isatis indigotica roots, highlighting their potential therapeutic use.
Four new compounds, isatigotindoledioside G (1), methyl-9S,12S,13S-trihydroxyoctadeca-10E,15E-dienoate (2), 9S,12S,13S-trihydroxyoctadeca-10E,15E-dienoic acid (3), and one new artificial product ethyl 9S,12S,13S-trihydroxyoctadeca-10E,15Z-dienoate (4), along with fourteen recognized compounds (5–18), were extracted from the roots of Isatis indigotica. These compounds' structures were characterized using NMR spectroscopy, HR-ESI-MS, ECD calculations, and literature comparisons. Compounds 5–6 and 10–11 showed appreciable anti-inflammatory properties, and compounds 1–4, 12–13, and 17–18 showed mild anti-inflammatory properties when evaluated in the LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cell model.
