Analysis of backward Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering reveals gas composition and pressure in fiber, indicating new measurement capabilities.
We investigated backward Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering in a 2.4 km SF 6 -flowing anti-resonant hollow-core fiber. BOTDR-based spectral measurements with resolution of 7.5(75) m quantitatively reveals gas composition, pressure, and Brillouin gain coefficient as low as 10 -3 m -1 W -1 .
