Experimental investigation reveals reduced light scattering and disorder in photonic crystals, highlighting a bandwidth transition.
We experimentally investigate spatially correlated stealthy-hyperuniform disorder in photonic crystal slabs. Here, long-wavelength disorder fluctuations (and light scattering) are suppressed up to a characteristic wavenumber. We observe this as manifested in photonic bands linewidth transition.
