Analysis shows a gain of ~716 in ultrashort pulses using a Cr:ZnSe amplifier, highlighting its efficiency.
We present a Cr:ZnSe amplifier pumped by a 1 kHz Q-switched Er:YAG laser for single pulses picked at 1 kHz from an 80 MHz Cr:ZnS Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser. An amplification gain of ~ 716 was achieved with pulse energies of 4.6 µJ.
