Demonstration of optical phased array achieves 54.4° steering and 9.8dB sidelobe suppression.
We demonstrate an optical phased array at λ = 488nm consisting of a thermo-optically tuned end-fire array coupled to a slab grating emitter. 54.4° of sidelobe-free beam steering, 9.8dB average sidelobe suppression, and 15 resolvable spots are achieved.
