Numerical analysis shows selective photon extraction increases mean fluorescence energy by ≈6 meV, suggesting effective cooling potential.
We report numerical calculations of fluorescent photon extraction from a GaAs body clad with DBRs designed to increase the mean fluorescence energy. The ≈6meV increase produced illustrates the potential of selective extraction in laser cooling.
