Observation of active control of broadband thermal emission in flexible substrates, suggesting applications in infrared technologies.
We demonstrate that by depositing multiple materials with epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) regions in the long-wave infrared range onto flexible substrates, it is possible to enable active control of broadband directional thermal emission to near-normal incidence.
