Theoretical proposal reveals ultralow linewidth BIC structures in waveguides, suggesting applications in filtering.
We theoretically propose a symmetry-protected BIC (SP-BIC) structure consisting of two low-refractive-index waveguides loaded on a high-refractive-index slab. Such SP-BICs possess an ultralow linewidth in resonant structures, which can be harnessed for ultranarrow-bandwidth filters.
