Experimental analysis reveals cyclic softening in 30CrMnSiNi2A steel, suggesting strain amplitude impacts fatigue life.
Experimental studies were conducted on the low-cycle fatigue properties of 30CrMnSiNi 2 A steel under different strain amplitudes, and the cyclic stress-strain response, cyclic characteristics, and hysteresis curve laws were analyzed. The results show that 30CrMnSiNi 2 A steel exhibits obvious cyclic softening characteristics and sustains the fatigue process until fatigue failure. The width of the hysteresis curve increases with the increase in cycle number, namely, the area of the hysteresis curve increases. This is particularly evident for small strain amplitudes. The 30CrMnSiNi 2 A steel exhibits non-massing behaviors in low-cycle fatigue. The Manson-Coffin formula can well describe the relationship between the strain amplitude and fatigue life within the measured range.
