Finite element analysis assessed bearing capacity in hollow cast steel tubular joints, revealing critical design parameters.
Joint design must balance structural rationality, safety performance, and economic efficiency, representing a critical consideration for engineering practitioners. To investigate the effects of key structural and dimensional parameters on the failure modes and bearing capacity of such joints, this paper employs ANSYS finite element software to model the joints. Key parameters analyzed include branch pipe penetration form, pipe wall slope, pipe dimensions, chamfer size, and overlap rate, with a focus on their influence on failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity.
