This study demonstrates the temperature-dependent deformation behaviors in SUS430 steel, indicating effective stress-relaxation modeling with dislocation density.
Crystal plasticity models are useful to understand the macroscopic deformation behaviour of steels from the perspective of microscopic deformation at the grain level. However, applications of crystal plasticity models to high-temperature deformations are much less than those of room-temperature deformations. In this study, dislocation-density based hardening models were used to simulate the stress-relaxation behaviours at different temperatures of a SUS430 steel sheet, and their prediction accuracy was investigated. The stress-strain curves under stress relaxation were reproduced well when a static-recovery term was considered in the equation of dislocation-density evolution.
