Analysis reveals significant factors affecting optical properties and warpage deformation in bispherical lenses, indicating improved molding methods.
Introduction: The warpage deformation and optical properties of a bispherical lens cannot be guaranteed at the same time in the process of injection molding. Therefore, the warpage deformation and optical properties were analyzed in the paper. Methods: The optimization method was proposed based on orthogonal experimental design and the CRITIC weight. Through a weighted analysis of orthogonal tests, three of the most important factors affecting product performance were identified. The Box-Behnken design (BBD) response surface experiment was adopted to analyze the mapping relationship between important process parameters and product quality. Results: The results of range analysis show that mold temperature, melt temperature, and holding pressure had the most significant effects on optical properties. The three-factor and three-level response surface model was established to optimize optical properties, and the optical indexes were optimized by 32.3%. The warpage deformation was further optimized by the deformation precompensation method, and the final warpage was reduced from 0.4924 mm to 0.0149 mm. The warp deformation of the product was reduced by 96.97% by using deformation pre-compensation. Discussion: The mold temperature, melt temperature, and holding pressure had the greatest effects on the comprehensive performance of the bispherical lens in the injection-compression molding process. Conclusion: This study examines the effects of multiple factors and highlights the potential for patentable innovations in injection-compression molding applications. The molding quality and performance of bispherical lenses can be enhanced through the optimization of process parameters and deformation pre-compensation.
