This paper presents a root-cutting robot for mushrooms, achieving 86.3% qualified cutting rate, indicating enhanced automation.
This paper designs and validates a mushroom root-cutting robot compatible with a suction cup-type harvesting robot, aiming to address the issues of high labor intensity and low efficiency in manual root-cutting. By analyzing the physical parameters of mushrooms (stem diameter: 10–20 mm), an adaptive root-cutting solution based on mechanical-sensor collaborative control is proposed, incorporating a dual-round belt transmission system, a posture correction device, and a high-speed rotary cutting device. Experimental results show that the optimized robot achieves an 80.2% reception success rate, 86.3% qualified root-cutting rate, and 78.8% conveying success rate, with a cutting accuracy of ±0.5 mm. The system significantly enhances the automation level of mushroom root-cutting through posture correction and dynamic cutting adjustment (400 rpm rotary blade), providing technical references for subsequent industrial applications.
