Observational analysis identified significant variations in water conditions in Ebrié Lagoon, highlighting pollution impacts.
This work aimed to establish the typology of the waters of the Ebrié lagoon based on physical and chemical descriptors using the statistical tools. Water samples were taken from april 2020 to march 2022 at 13 sites, distributed across the Ebrié lagoon system. The physicochemical descriptors were measured in situ and in the laboratory respectively using a WTW 3430 multiparameter and a HACH DR6000 spectrophotometer. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Withney tests (p < 0.05) indicated that electrical conductivity, nitrates, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, total dissolved solids vary significantly from one station to another unlike temperature. And nitrites. Principal component analysis (PCA) made it possible to identify four classes of water based on the natural conditions of the environment and especially the intensity of anthropogenic pollution.
