Analysis of renewable energy sources in isolated systems reveals advantages and barriers in implementation.
The article examines the experience of de-veloping alternative energy in remote re-gions. The purpose of the study is to ana-lyze the global and Russian experience of using renewable energy sources (RES) in isolated energy systems, to identify the key advantages and barriers to implementation. Successful cases of implementing solar, wind, and geothermal energy, as well as hybrid systems, are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the economic and envi-ronmental aspects of using RES in the ab-sence of a centralized energy supply. Ex-amples from the practice of foreign coun-tries (countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and North America) and Russian regions (Kam-chatka) are given.
