Critical literature review reveals classical management's influence on today's organizational effectiveness, suggesting integration with new technologies.
The article analyzes the significance of classical management theories in the context of dynamic changes in the modern economy, emphasizing their impact on current managerial practices. The research uses a critical literature review to understand the role of key figures in classical management, such as Robert Owen, Charles Babbage, and Frederick W. Taylor, and their contribution to the organization of work and the effectiveness of enterprises. The evolution of managerial thought is presented, including classical management theories, such as the theory of interpersonal relations and quantitative theories. Contemporary integrative approaches, such as systemic and situational theories, are also identified, which allow for better adaptation of management methods to changing market realities. The research indicates that despite the passage of time, classical theories still constitute the foundation for contemporary management concepts, such as reengineering, benchmarking, outsourcing, and lean management. It also indicates the need for further analysis of these theories in the context of new technologies and innovations and their adaptation to digitalization. The conclusions drawn from the undertaken subject show that classical management theories have a significant impact on the effectiveness of modern organizations. Their development should be continued to adapt to the challenges resulting from technological progress and changes in the market environment.
