This analysis reveals the impact of 5G communication on immersive education in cultural heritage tourism, indicating improved efficiency.
In the context of global tourism development, the integration of culture and tourism has become central to fostering cultural self-confidence. Cultural connotation now plays a key role in tourism, with cultural heritage emerging as a vital resource for exploration. Existing academic research often emphasizes heritage tourism through scenic spot construction, resource utilization, and protection measures. This study explores how 5G technology can enhance immersive and energy-efficient communication experiences in heritage tourism, with a focus on educational travel to cultural sites such as Lushan World Geopark. Rather than elaborating on 5G architecture, the paper emphasizes its application in supporting seamless education and digital immersion where infrastructure is limited. A base station energy consumption model is employed to evaluate network efficiency, and a broadband base station antenna unit is designed to meet growing performance demands. This ensures reliable wireless communication for heritage tourism settings. Within the broader context of cultural and tourism integration, heritage research travel organically links world heritage, tourism, and youth education. This paper clarifies the connotation of cultural heritage research travel and summarizes its characteristics in terms of organizers, participants, activities, and learning content. Using Lushan World Geopark as a case study, experimental results show that the optimized MIMO-D2D system model provides five strategies for creative research travel and safeguarding China's intangible cultural heritage: strengthening public engagement, refining legislation, enhancing education and training, cultivating inheritors, and promoting locally adapted protective measures.
